“Wholistic” is an alternative spelling of “holistic” that better conveys the idea of considering the whole.  The aim of wholistic productivity management is to increase the productivity of an institution in a manner that is consistent with its strategy. Rather than short-term “cost cutting”, the emphasis here is on the sustainable optimization of key elements of one’s own cost position. A number of tools and methods are used for wholistic productivity management and it needs to be firmly embedded in the strategy of an institution.
