One of the tasks of effective management is developing people. The most important aspect of an institution is its people. Therefore it is one of the most important management tasks to develop and support ones people. This is a task of each and every executive – and not the task of the HR department. Developing people essentially means to utilize the strengths of people and to make their weaknesses irrelevant – this is not achieved by getting rid of people’s weaknesses, but by placing them there where their weaknesses have no role to play.
